Fraud remains a significant challenge for the global financial sector, with substantial financial losses and eroded trust in banking systems. In Nigeria, Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) have been severely impacted by rising fraud activities, including identity theft, account takeovers, and cybercrimes. With the expansion of digital banking and online services, fraud has become more sophisticated, prompting the need for advanced fraud prevention methods. This study explores the effect of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on fraud prevention in Listed DMBs. This study adopts a survey research design, which is considered appropriate due to the nature of the research objectives and the methodology employed. A survey research design is particularly well-suited for collecting data from a large group of individuals to gain insights into their perceptions, experiences, and attitudes on a particular topic. The population for this study consists 100 Hundred of the staff and management of the 14 listed deposit money banks operating in Nigeria as of December 31, 2024. The regression analysis shows that ADS accounts for approximately 29.8% of the variation in FFP, indicating a strong and meaningful relationship between the two. As ADS improves, so does the effectiveness of fraud prevention, with each increase in ADS leading to a notable improvement in FFP. However, the model also suggests that there are other important factors contributing to FFP, as evidenced by the 70% of variability not explained by ADS alone. While ADS proves to be a valuable predictor, it is clear that a comprehensive fraud prevention strategy should integrate ADS with other methods, such as human oversight, user behavior analytics, and rules-based systems, to ensure a more holistic and effective approach to combating financial fraud. The study recommends that Integrate BAS with Other Fraud Detection Techniques: Given the significant yet partial contribution of BAS to FFP, it is recommended that organizations combine BAS with additional fraud prevention systems and Focus on Continual Improvement and Calibration of ADS: Since ADS has proven to be a strong predictor of FFP, organizations should invest in the continual improvement and fine-tuning of their anomaly detection systems.

This article presents a pedagogically grounded model for English language acquisition at the primary school level, developed and tested within a non-formal educational environment. The research is situated in the theoretical framework of the pedagogy of upbringing, which emphasises the importance of action, play, and meaningful communication for sustaining curiosity and intrinsic motivation among young learners. In this context, the digital technology Funtronic, popularly known as the “magic floor”, is examined not as a stand-alone technical innovation but as an educational mediator embedded in the cultural setting of the library. The model is based on a two-stage organisation of learning. In the preparatory phase, pupils create and present linguistic materials through creative activities that foster expression and cooperation. In the interactive phase, these materials are transformed into digital games projected onto the floor, enabling pupils to engage with the content through movement, collaboration, and emotional involvement. This structure underscores the interplay between creativity and technology as a pathway towards intellectual upbringing, where language learning is integrated with bodily activity, imagination, and social interaction. The empirical study involved third- and fourth-grade pupils divided into experimental and control groups, both attending extracurricular clubs in a library setting. Quantitative analysis focused on four key indicators: learning engagement, active vocabulary, correct pronunciation, and the ability to construct simple sentences. The findings reveal that the experimental group achieved significantly higher results across all indicators, alongside increased motivation, stronger willingness to collaborate, and more positive attitudes towards learning compared with their peers in the control group. This demonstrates that the integration of interactive technologies within cultural environments can serve as a practical and effective strategy for early foreign language education.

The use of contraceptives among students is influenced by various socio-economic factors, including age, awareness, and income, the cost of contraceptives, partner contributions, and access to contraceptives on the student's campus. This study evaluated the impact of these factors on contraceptive use and identified the most commonly used contraceptives among students at Sokoine University in Morogoro. The study employed a cross-sectional design and was conducted from May to June 2024 among 384 undergraduate students from the Edward Moringe and Solomon Mahlangu campuses. Participants were selected through random sampling, and data was collected using a pre-tested structured questionnaire that included both open and closed-ended questions. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and logistic regression. The factors influencing contraceptive utilization were assessed using logistic regression analysis. A P-value of less than 0.05 was considered statistically significant. This study showed that the partner’s contribution(P<0.04), religion(P<0.05), contraceptive use with partner approval(P<0.03), and contraceptive costs (P< 0.03) are significant predictors of the utilization of modern family planning methods among students at Sokoine University of Agriculture. The common method used more by male (72%) students than females (28%) followed by hormonal pills which is more common in females (76%) than in male (24%) students. The findings of this study suggest that socio-economic factors play an important role in influencing students’ decisions about using contraceptives. Interventions that target these factors, such as providing educational programs and increasing access to modern family planning methods, could help improve contraceptive utilization among students and reduce unintended pregnancies.

The field experiment was conducted during the cropping season of 2024 at the Teaching and Research Farm, Department of Crop Science, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Uyo. The aim was the production of Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus(L) as affected by priming in Uyo, Nigeria. The farm is located on latitude 05°2` North and longitude 07°58`East, with an elevation of–52 m above sea level. Mean annual rainfall of the area stands at about 2,500mm, with mean monthly relative humidity of 79.8%. Seeds of lady finger, a variety of okra were obtained from the National Seeds Centre, National Root Crops Research Institute, Umudike, Abia State for the experiment. The experimental treatments were four levels of priming: 0 (control), 12 hours, 24 hours and 36 hours. The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD), and replicated three (3) times. The experiment consisted of four plots per replicate, totaling 12 plots for the entire experiment. The parameter measured during the research work are germination percentage, plant height, leaf area, number of leaves, number of fruits, fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit weight and yield. Each plot (flat) measured 2.25 m × 2.25 m. Each replicate was separated from one another by 1 m while plots were separated by 1 m paths. The experiment consisted of four treatment factors as follows; Treatment A - (Control; 0 hours priming) Treatment B - (12 hours priming), Treatment C - (24 hours), Treatment D - (36 hours). The land which measured 13 m x 9.75 m was cleared with the aid of machete and the trash packed to the borders of the farm. Significant difference (p<0.05) on both growth and yield parameters where 36 hours of priming recorded higher in both germination percentage (80.33), plant height (67.44), leaf area (311.59), number of leaves (11.79), number of pod per plant (34.64), number of seeds (26.71), fruit length (12.11), fruit diameter (6.00), fruit weight (3.51), dry pod weight (0.32) and yield 700.45). From the research finding, recommendation is hereby made for farmers within the locality, to prime their okra seeds 36 hours before planting for fast germination and over-all yield.

With the increase in technological advancement, concepts such as online church, live streaming, and online offering to mention a few have become commonplace. Furthermore, the COVID-19 pandemic, four years ago, forced a massive move of churches to the online space. Although the pandemic has become an historical event of the past, church leaders are still dealing with the outcome of the changes this period catalyzed. Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are two main ordinances among Protestant churches, and for the first time, some church leaders were forced to consider administering the Lord’s Supper online or not observing at all. Since the post-COVID phase, some churches have maintained online Lord’s Supper as a norm for non-physical members. The initiation of virtual Lord’s Supper celebration demands theological reflection so that the church may not lose the purpose of the meal in a bid to be pragmatic. This article argues that except in extremely extenuating circumstances, online communion defeats the very purpose of the meal. The article will briefly describe the concept of the Lord’s Supper, explore the emergence of online worship experiences, underscore the COVID-19 as a catalyst to the acceleration and acceptance of online communion as a common practice and finally critique the practice of administering the Lord’s Supper online.

In the recent past, homileticians have demanded that good biblical preaching should be expository—preachers open the Scriptures and let the Scriptures speak so that the sermon communicates to the audience the meaning of the text and why it matters. In this sense, expository goes beyond just a type of preaching as older preaching textbooks taught; it becomes a philosophy that guides the preachers. However, practically, some preachers maintained expository preaching as a type—characterized by finding three points or more from a pericope of Scripture and preaching that. The challenge with this understanding of expository is that books of the Bible, such as Proverbs and portions of Ecclesiastes, are not easily breakable into pericopes and do not necessarily lend themselves to three or four points. This misunderstanding of expository as a philosophy led some homileticians to coin the term ―text-driven preaching.‖ In this case, the sermon does not force a structure on the text; instead, the sermon is a re-presentation of the text based on its structure, substance and spirit. Preaching thus will vary the sermon as the text of the Scriptures was written with different genres. This article explore some of the complexities of Ecclesiastes, and suggest a text-driven methodology for preaching from the book of Ecclesiastes.
